My philosophy when shooting is to create memories that are timeless and really show people’s personalities and relationships. With families with children, that’s so, so important to me. Sure, we can get photos of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but we can also get photos that embody who you are as a family; who your children are in theri innocent, silly selves.
A lot of people worry about their children “not liking their photo taken,” but it’s never worried me once. Once the kids start to warm up, have a good time, and feel comfortable being themselves? That’s where the memories start happening. The photos that you’re 50 year old self will look back on and think about how chaotic but absolutely beautiful those days were of them being little.
