So it’s not often that I have a couple do something I’ve never seen at a wedding before, but Josie and Robert did just that not once, but TWICE. Both of these things are something that I think should totally become a trend at ALL weddings, but I’ll delve into that soon. First, let’s talk about Josie and Robert.
Both of these awesome people are on the road to medical awesomeness and have spent the last few years doing more studying than many of us will ever do our entire lives! They truly have a passion for what they do, and I’m in awe of some of the things that Josie has described to me that has been the long road that is medical school. Not only are these two intelligent beyond words, but they are so FUNNY and QUIRKY and unashamed to be themselves and be authentic. To me, above all things, authenticity is the greatest personal trait any one person can have.
They were not afraid to be themselves and insert their personalities throughout the entire day. Of course their day was destined for success because it was at Ashton Gardens north of Dallas, but besides the awesomeness of being surround with a rich array of friends and family, they also had a humanist officiant wed them, did their grand introduction to the “Futurama” theme and took a photo with literally every person there in attendance directly after the ceremony! But that’s not even the part that I mentioned above!
One of the most special, special things I can say I’ve ever seen at a ceremony was a moment that these two planned in which they whispered something special to one another. Something that no one else will really understand (and maybe never even know!). Just something shared between only them, known by only them. The second thing they did was at the very end of their reception: Yes, they did a private dance (y’all know how obsessed I am with those), but they actually gathered up everyone on the dance floor and said goodbye INDIVIDUALLY to every single person in attendance, along with a hug! I mean, that’s some serious magic right there.
Thank you, Josie and Robert, for allowing me to document such an important day in your life! I wish you many, many years of love and happiness!
