I’m pretty sure Elyse and I are somehow related and we just don’t know it. Or maybe kindred spirits. Her wedding had so, so many similarities with my own, by the end of the day I felt like a crazy person because I kept telling her every half hour or so that it was almost eerie how similar they were in literal ways, but also in the same in spirit!
Elyse and Chris were married on New Year’s Day (what a way to start the year?! Is there anything better?!) in Denton, TX in an intimate ceremony by the Justice of the Peace. Their closest family and friends joined them as the Honorable Joe Holland joined them in matrimony. What’s that, you say? The courthouse isn’t open on NYD? Well, guess what? He literally opened the building especially for these two, because they are that awesome!
After the ceremony, family and friends headed down to Hannah’s on the Square to have a brunch reception and celebrate the family joining together in the best way to start the new year: in laughter and sharing stories while drinking mimoas. And can I say that I had a first EVER for me: I had a table card with *MY* name on it. That’s pretty awesome, guys!
Later that evening, we wandered around the Denton Square to take some photos of the happy couple, including from the rooftop of LSA and a mighty fine view of the sun setting on the horizon along with the historic courthouse. That courthouse is a beautiful site, but once the sun sets and the trees light up? One of my favorite spots in Denton!
Congratulations again, Elyse and Chris! Thank you so, so much for inviting me to be a part of your day! It made me very nostalgic and warm and fuzzy from my own wedding memories!
